NEW GYM WITH HALF PRICE MEMBERSHIP

NEW GYM WITH HALF PRICE MEMBERSHIP

The UK is experiencing a decrease in average gym prices as Klick Fitness, a new ‘no frills’ health club group comes to town

Average person in the UK currently pays more than £32 per month

Klick Fitness is reducing this to £12.99 per month

A survey of approx 80 gyms in the UK found that the average cost of membership is more than £32 per month and more than £362 annually. Some currently pay as much as £72 per month with annual fees of up to £864 - at a time when the recession and a general decline in disposable income have made it tough to make it a priority.

Klick Fitness has decided to make exercise cheaper for the average gym goer offering memberships from just £12.99 per month (£155 per year) with a £10 initial joining fee. Going to the gym at Klick fitness is £708 per year cheaper than the most expensive fitness establishment surveyed. Those who don’t want to commit to a membership contract only pay £15.99 per month option with £10 joining fee.

Jason Tubbs, Head of Club Operations for Klick Fitness, said:

“We recognised that gym-goers nationwide needed more options and wanted cheaper membership rates.  So we launched an affordable package to bridge the gap in the market, giving members a cheaper gym membership with more of the stuff they do use and less of the stuff they don’t.   We feel strongly that low cost does not mean low quality so we have invested heavily in creating a fun, vibrant and energetic environment for members to train in.  Members can sign up online at www.klickfitness.com and then access their club using a unique pin code.  It really is that simple.”

The new, lower cost gyms will make exercise more accessible and aims to get more people participating – a key goal of the government in 2012.

Klick Fitness aims to decrease the cost of working out. Researchers at the company have determined what people want in their gym experiences and have cut out the proverbial fat, allowing them to charge less. Concentrating on the important parts of most people’s workouts, Klick Fitness has the traditional cardio and strength machines, and a large range of free weights as well as a unique ‘freestyle’ training area where people can try out new training methods. Klicksters (Klick Fitness’ affectionate term for their staff) are also on hand to help members get the most out of their workouts.

Having opened 9 branches throughout the UK, Klick fitness is well on the way to lessening the price of getting fit.
