FKPro Suspension Trainer Review![]() FKPro is the ultimate functional training tool. The FKPro two strap system is market leading in terms of versatility, strength and accessories. FKPro can be used virtually anywhere, and is light and easily portable. Fitness Blogger UK FKPRO Review Introduction
When the parcel from FKPro arrived here at Fitness Blogger UK, I was eager to have a look inside and of course put it to the test! This would be the first suspension trainer review on the site and it was decided I would start my new fitness regime while using the kit. After speaking with Mark Hammond from FKPro we decided that a 2 week trial of the system would make sense. This would allow us to see what could be achieved in a relatively short space of time. My ultimate goal for using the FKPro was to help increase my upper body strength and try to lose a few rather stubborn lbs of fat from my belly!! It was also discussed that the FKPro trainer would benefit my posture and may even help relieve those aches and pains in my lower back by targeting my core muscles. We needed a simple form of measuablity so we have carried out a few tests. I have been weighed, had my body fat measured and BMI calculated. Week One Stats Weight: 12 st 3 lbs Fat %: 23.2 BMI: 27.1 I also performed some simple bodyweight exercises so we could test these again after the 2 weeks and hopefully note the improvements. Here are my results Sit ups: 32 Press ups: 14 Pull ups: 1 ish!! Mark then set about creating me a bespoke plan that I could follow for the trial, see below... “The following ideas are an attempt to put you on the right road to better health James… The exercises are neither exhaustive or exhausting in terms of difficulty or volume, This is very much a gentle introduction for the first few weeks..…” Mark Hammond. The 2 Week Trial exercise Programme The chest press: 3 sets of 10 reps Suspended chest press: 3 sets of 10 reps Both of the above will improve your pushing/ pressing strength, they will target mainly pecs, shoulders and triceps. Owing to the suspended position the core is activated as a stabiliser unlike a machine seated chest press version. The T raise: 3 sets of 8 reps The L raise: 3 sets of 8 reps The angled row: 3 sets of 8 reps The Lat pull up: 3 sets of 8 reps These are all great exercises for hitting the back of the upper body, an area so easy to neglect when using traditional methods. These 3 exercises balance out the body so that pulling / rowing strength matches your pressing power. They also activate the upper and mid back and rear shoulder which will increase strength stability and range of movement in this region. They will help to improve posture very effectively and very efficiently in a relatively short time.
Unboxing the FKPRO
The first thing I notice when I open the box to the FKPro is the smell, a fresh "just been made" brand new sort of smell... this may sound a bit odd but it really does smell great... I excitedly start pulling straps and carabiners from the bag carefully placing everything in some sort of order so I can snap a few pics. So whats in the Bag
2 Standard fixings (for use with poles, beams and trees etc) 2 door fixings 2 Handles 2 main straps 2 Foot cradles 1 Floor measuring thing.. (Don’t know if this has a technical name!!) A DVD and a handy little booklet. The FKPro has a real quality feel and the clips and buckles all solid, this helps me feel more confident that when I am suspended attempting a press up I will not fall on my face... (Well not due to the kit anyway.) I notice the handles have a solid construction and feel comfortable to grip too. I put the DVD to one side and in typical bloke fashion I promise myself I will watch this one day.. to be honest I have watched most of the videos already on the FKPRO website So I am feeling confident I know how to use it already. The Little booklet has all the suspended bodyweight exercises I will be using and many others too, they all have clear images and are concisely written and in fact the tone is more like a Personal Trainer explaining the exercises rather than reading an information booklet. After taking the pictures I pack it all back up into the storage bag and I am impressed it all fits back easily and without to much trouble.
