Fitbit Ultra UK ReviewFitbit, America’s fastest growing fitness and wellbeing brand is now in the UK introducing the new wireless accelerometer "The Fitbit Ultra"
The Sleek and Bijou Fitbit Blue
Today we were very excited when our new gadget the “Fitbit Ultra” arrived at Fitness Blogger HQ. In case you were wondering what a Accelerometer is or does.. it is, basically a pedometer but a lot cooler… In scientific terms the difference is “Accelerometers measure vertical acceleration; Pedometers simply respond to vertical acceleration.” I wont go into too much more on this as I don’t really understand the mechanics but if you want to read more visit wikipedia... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accelerometer So What does The Fitbit Ultra Tracker do
"Our research shows us that one of the biggest challenges to maintain fitness regimes is motivation – especially as we get further into January," said Gareth Jones, VP for Fitbit
More images on our Facebook Page Who are Fitbit and what do they do Fitbit is an American company dedicated to helping people lead healthier, more active lives. They take a common sense approach to fitness, and believe that the key is to make it easier for consumers to be more active, eat smarter, and get enough sleep — in short, the small changes to your daily routine can add up to big results. The Fitbit Ultra has already taken the American health and wellbeing industry by storm and is now here in the UK and arrived just in time for those January health and fitness resolutions....
The Fitbit Ultra is available in blue or plum from major retailers and costs £79.99 SRP
First impressions My initial thoughts on the Fitbit ultra are very positive, the packaging is nice and clear, "Track your day. Be more Fit" Inside the box, you get the Fitbit tracker, a belt holster, base station and charger unit with a usb adapter and the branded sleep wristband. The tracker itself is smaller than I thought it would be, it measures approx 5cm so I can agree the unit is definitely "Small and Discreet" All the components have a rigidity about them which I think helps to give an overall feel of quality, one thing that is actually quite refreshing is there is NO instruction booklet or health and safety pamphlet or other printed junk to dispose of. Instead you are clearly directed to set up your tracker by logging onto Fitbit.com My next post will show setting up the tracker and using it for the first time If you have any questions or comments please leave below Posted on Saturday, 03 December 2011 09:14AM by The Fitness Blogger ![]()
